I'm not talking about the pasty hordes that descend each summer on this smiling land. I'm talking about the very thing they aim to flee, ie, British weather. Cool, green, endlessly rainy BritIsh weather. Piemonte has been deluged for weeks, with scarcely any sun. Its been better in the Northeast. Even there, a producer told me yesterday, there have been problems with mildew.
Tuscany has fared better, but the Maremma has had more sun than inland of late. Weather has generally been far better down South.
More later from Veneto.
